Diversity

in any institution is absolutely critical to that institution’s growth and success.

A community’s success

is dependent on how well it values, engages and includes the rich diversity of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and alumni constituents.

Beloved community

is formed, not by the eradication
of difference, but by its affirmation.

Ash Consulting Group helps great schools become greater by providing coaching, consultation and comprehensive support to schools and organizations committed to inclusive excellence. Inclusive Excellence is the recognition that a community’s success is dependent on how well it values, engages and includes the rich diversity of students, staff, faculty, administrators, and alumni constituents.

We engaged Dr. Ash to guide a strategic planning process for our school focused on inclusiveness and equity initiatives. Throughout our time with her, Dr. Ash proved to be incredibly resourceful and highly effective in designing and implementing a process that yielded clear, actionable steps for our school. Her style is highly collaborative and supportive, and she also knows how and when to ask essential, critical questions that move people forward in their thinking. It was a pleasure to work with Carolyn!

Tim Barrier, Head of School Stanley British Primary School Denver, Colorado

The University of Denver’s Annual Diversity Summit is a signature program hosted by the campus to celebrate and discuss challenges related to diversity, inclusion and equity in higher education. Working with Dr. Ash on this year’s Summit was a refreshing experience because her work ethic is so strong. She worked seamlessly with a 30 member committee made up of undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, faculty, staff and administrators from all backgrounds. She was able to gain their trust as a non-DU community member and rally them enthusiastically around the coordination of this exciting event. Dr. Ash has a wonderfully calming and strong approach to leadership. She is not afraid to challenge folks but she is also extremely supportive — all with the intention of helping a group meet their goals. Dr. Ash was the absolutely perfect fit for this project as her background and passion for social justice, diversity, and inclusive excellence are solid. Her insights and suggestions helped elevate the quality and value of a 13 year old event!

I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for facilitating our staff In-Service on diversity and inclusion. You were masterful in guiding our thinking, discussions and reflections. We are most appreciative of your support in helping us to set concrete, attainable goals as we work toward Inclusive Excellence. The feedback I received from workshop participants — teachers and parents alike — was appreciative and enthusiastic. Thank you for opening the door to this very sensitive exploration of how we can grow in offering a positive, inclusive environment for our students, staff and families.
